Pegasus Airlines has been established as a Joint Venture among Aer Lingus, Silkar Yatırım ve Net Holding in Istanbul in 1990. Pegasus has realized its first flight in May 1990 and it has started its journey with two aircrafts and today it has turned into a fleet of 23 aircrafts including state-of-art model Boeing 737-800 aircrafts together with its affiliate IzAir. Through its 19 years successful past, Pegasus has become one of the leading airline companies of Turkey and it has currently scheduled and charter flights to 100 plus different destination points in 17 countries from Turkey with its 13 pieces of Boeing 737-800, 2 pieces of Boeing 737-400 and 3 pieces of Boeing 737-500 type aircrafts and additionally 3 pieces of Airbus A319 and 2 pieces of Airbus A320 type aircrafts in IzAir company. In addition, it provides wet leasing services to the other airline companies when they require extra capacity besides the charter operations.

ESAS Holding has completely acquired the Pegasus Airlines in January 2005. Today, Ali Sabancı is the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Sertac Haybat is the General Manager in Pegasus.
