İstanbul Arel University was established on 18th May, 2008  by Kemal Gözükara Education and Culture Foundation.

Our university consists of 5 faculties: Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Faculty of Communication, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Fine Arts and 3 schools: School of Applied Sciences, School of  Foreign Languages, School of  Vocational Studies. There are also two  Institutes for master and PhD education; Institute of Sciences and Institute of Social Sciences.
Our university has launched education in 2007–2008 academic year with 685 students both in undergraduate and vocational studies. In the first year  while undergraduate students were studying at English Prep. Program the students at Vocational School received education in 14 two-year degree programmes. In 2008–2009 academic year, the number of students increased by 500 %  and rose up to 3100 students including 672 undergraduate and 2428 two-year degree students.
Istanbul Arel University has two campuses:  The main Campus Tepekent located in Büyükçekmece Tepekent Project is 60,0000 m2 in a closed area.  It will be opened in 2009–2010 academic year. Our second Campus Sefaköy, which is  situated on a 21.000 m2 area, is located in Küçükçekmece.

Our university which adopted as a principle to serve modern, at an international academic standards high level of education to youngs who are the only means to convey our prestige of nation on the global scala.
Our university aims at cultivating respectful youngs who are faitfully devoted to Atatürk’s revolutions, and those who believe in a Republic of Turkey based on a secular, democratic and social constitutional state.  And also individuals who have a global vision appreciating international values as well as scientific and technological developments.

The ultimate goals of Istanbul Arel University can be listed as below:

Provide well-qualified, professional and excellent university education; Contributes to the socio-economic conversion of Turkey; Improves education oppurtunities with the help of all of the academic and administrative personnel; Provides university education oppurtunities for those  students  with a low - income Supports all kinds of researches  and scholarships in order to meet the educational,  socio-economic and cultural requirements of Turkey not only in Turkey but also on the international basis.  Aims at becoming an international university by getting into close connection with the outstanding  universities abroad through a research network.
